During your appointment or if you are mailing in or dropping off your information we will need the following information from you. Not all items may apply to you if you did not partake in that activity for the year. It is necessary to have all the documents issued to you and will help your taxes be as accurate as possible.
-A copy of your previous year's tax return if you did not have them prepared by our office.
-Form(s) W-2 (wages, etc.)
-Form(s) 1099 (interest, dividends, gambling, etc.)
-Schedule(s) K-1 (income/loss from partnerships, S corporations, etc.)
-Form(s) 1098 (mortgage interest, tuition, etc.)
-Brokerage statements from stock, bond, or other investment transactions
-Closing statements pertaining to real estate transactions
-Form(s) 1099-K (Merchant card and third party network payments)
-All other supporting documents (schedules, checkbooks, etc.)
-Any tax notices received from the IRS or other taxing authorities
-If you plan to itemize your deductions a log or spreadsheet of tax deductible expenses and donations will help. If unsure, we will help guide you along and find out what is best for you.
We send your tax forms instantly to the IRS after we receive your signed E-File consent forms and your preparation fee payment. The IRS issues refunds usually in less than 21 days. Be aware that some returns take longer for the IRS. If you are receiving your refund by mail, please add the delivery of mail to this time. Tax return forms mailed in as paper returns may take up to 6 weeks, although most take less.
